This Sage ONE is a rod I am proud to have built. It is a 9'6" 4 weight and features a Lemke LC-1 black nickel reel seat with an elk horn insert with a trout jumping for a mayfly. The grip is constructed of buffalo horn and burl cork. The Snake Brand Universal guides were wrapped with black thread and Fuji metallic copper thread as trim bands. Jungle cock feathers were used as alignment marks for each section and of course, my trade mark feather inlay just above the grip featuring Greys Pheasant and jungle cock feathers.
This Sage Method 9'6" 7 wt was constructed using Buffalo horn for the fighting butt, reel seat insert, and was also used in the grip along with burl cork. A Lemke LC-5 Nickel silver reel seat was used along with Snake Brand Universal guides. Madeira Thread was used to wrap the guides and finished with Flex Coat. A base of two Greys Pheasant Peacock feathers were laid down followed by jungle cock feathers and outlined with grizzly hackle. Note the trout scrimshawed on the reel insert.
This very special rod was built on a Thomas & Thomas Helix blank. It is a 6wt and features a spalted big leaf maple grip with fighting butt. An elk horn reel seat insert for a Lemke LC-5 was fabricated. A trout was then scrimshawed by artist Cheryl Edstedt. Snake Brand Universal guides were wrapped with Medeira thread with silver accent bands. A jungle cock feather inlay accents the wood handle and were also used as alignment marks
